The Beatles' bassist teamed up with John Lennon to write some of the greatest songs of all time. Always referred to as the cute Beatle, Paul McCartney was also the stoniest Beatle.
McCartney has been arrested four times for marijuana possession, most famously in Japan in 1980 when he was nabbed with nearly a half pound of weed at Tokyo Airport and spent 10 days in jail. Hiis first wife Linda Eastman, who died of breast cancer in 1998, was arrested three times on pot charges. McCartney has called for decriminalization of marijuana on many occasions. "People are smoking pot anyway," he says. "To make them criminals is wrong." In 2008, McCartney divorced Heather Mills, who disapproved of his marijuana use. She received a $48 million settlement. He married Nancy Shevell on Oct. 9. Born in 1942, McCartney turned 69 on June 18. Also see:

@Kevin OHagan, I remember either John or Paul saying that they would never get high on stage or when recording because it would have a negative effect on their performance.

Actually, I Am The Walrus is a *John Lennon* song, and in the song the words are everybody's got one sung over and over.

I wonder if his cannabis usage happened during onstage concerts. Is he usually stoned onstage? I've seen some performers act obviously stoned onstage, and it was detrimental to their performance

I'm so glad she can't boss him around anymore. He'll never find another Linda but he deserve someone who loves him for who he is.
