Pete Doherty must not mind spending the night in jail. He did just that on Saturday night (Jan. 13), after police arrested him for being in a stolen car in the Hackney section of East London.

The Babyshambles' frontman was arrested - along with two others - but not charged.

Following a Babyshambles' show at Catch 22 in Shoreditch on Saturday night, Doherty joined two mates in a car for a joyride that ended as a chase when police attempted to halt the vehicle. One the car had stopped, the passengers - including Doherty - attempted to elude the police, unsuccessfully. 

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard reported: "Officers gave pursuit and after a high-speed chase, the stolen vehicle stopped and two men ran off. The driver was arrested inside the vehicle... on suspicion of being unfit to drive, driving whilst disqualifed and on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. The other two men decamped from the vehicle and were pursued by police and they were caught nearby."

After the gig and before the arrest, Doherty told reporters, "I'm really off the drugs and feeling great."

He also squelched that he and CelebStoner model/girlfriend Kate Moss are getting married anytime soon. "I'm never getting married," Doherty insisted. "I don't believe in it. Kate and I are in love - I worship her - but we're not going down the aisle. I'm happy the way it is."

Moss was caught snorting coke by the British media in 2005. 

Doherty was arrested for crack possession in November.
