The scene in Dazed and Confused where Matthew McConaughey's overgrown high-school student Wooderson asks incoming frosh Mitch (played by Wily Wiggins) if he's holding is a stoner-movie classic.

In the scene, Mitch is going out for a night on the town with a bunch of seniors. As he enters Wooderson's car. Wooderson turns and looks at Wiggins, then utters the famous line:

"Say man, you got a joint?"

Dumbfounded, Wiggins scratches his head and mumbles: "Ah, no, not on me, man."

Somewhat disappointed, Wooderson turns again and says in his best Texas drawl:

"It’d be a lot cooler if you did."

Dazed and Confused (1993) was McConaughey's screen debut. Since then, he's appeared in nearly 30 movies, including We Are Marshall, Sahara, A Time to Kill and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. He's routinely selected as one of the "World's Sexiest Men" by magazines like People.

Born in Texas on Nov. 4, 1969, the actor was arrested in Austin in 1999 for possessing marijuana and paraphernaila, and for playing loud music with fellow Dazed and Confused alum Cole Hauser. Observed banging the bongos naked, this made for amusing tabloid headlines. The pot charges were dropped, and he paid a $50 fine for the noise violation.

McConaughey has said about the incident: "[It] was real enjoyable until I looked up and saw someone in the house who I knew I hadn’t invited. [Things became] less enjoyable when he [the police officer] was tryin’ to pin me to the ground and I was fightin’ back. It sucked when I was goin’ into the jail, and once I got in jail it became enjoyable again because there were some real fun cellmates. We were singin’ songs."

In 2008, McConaughey starred in the stoner flick Surfer, Dude, with fellow Top CelebStoners Woody Harrelson and Willie Nelson.

McConaughey and his Brazilian girlfriend Camila Alves have a son, Levi, and daughter, Vida.
