Snoop Dogg Sentenced to Community Service PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 21 September 2007 17:18

Snoop Dogg was sentenced to nearly 1,000 hours of community service for weapon and pot charges dating back to 2006.

On Oct. 26, 2006, he was arrested at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California on felony marijuana and firearm possession charges. The rapper was busted again on Nov. 28 in Burbank when police found pot. cocaine and a gun in his vehicle after an appearance on The Tonight Show. In April 2008, he pled no contest to all charges in exchange for five years' probation and 800 hours of community service.

On Sept. 27, 2006, Snoop was charged with possessing a dangerous weapon when he attempted to carry a police-style baton onto a flight at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California. The rapper pled guilty on Sept. 20, 2007, nearly one year after the arrest. He was sentenced to three years' probation and 160 of community service, and was required to make a charitable donation of $10,000.

Let's do the math:

Community service: 800 hours + 160 hours = 960 hours

Probation: five years + three years = eight years
