Mischa Barton was hit with four charges stemming from her Dec. 27, 2007 DUI and weed bust in Los Angeles. The charges were:

• driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

• driving while having a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or higher

• driving without a valid driver's licence

• possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana

On Apr. 10, 2008, she plead gulity to the first two charges. The marijuana charge was dismissed and the driver's license charge reduced to an infraction.

She was sentenced to three years' unsupervised probation and a three-month alcohol-education class, and fined $1,652 plus $312 court fees..

Barton told Ryan Seacrest about the arrest:

"I was pulled over, just that. Obviously, I'm 100% responsible for my actions in this case, and I'm really disappointed in myself. I don't know what to say about it, except that I'm not perfect and I just don't ever intend to do something this stupid again.

"I was out with some friends. I actually hadn't been driving in the night. I wanted to get my car home. So I decided to go home at the end. I can't really get into specifics because we've got he case coming up and I'm not supposed to say anything about what happened. So I was pulled over. It was the end of the night, and I wanted to get my car home. I hadn't been driving. I didn't have a license. I grew up in New York - the land of people who don't have to drive. That's always been the toughest thing about living in L.A. for me. I usually try not to get behind the wheel, but..."
