Caught chopping cocaine with a credit card in his SUV in Fayetteville, Arkansas on July 12, 2008, Jaguars' WR Matt Jones was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and released on $25,000 bail.

Matt Jones mug shotAt 12:40 am, police apprehended Jones and two others (all played football at the University of Arkansas) in a parked Toyota 4Runner on Dickson St. During a search, they found six grams of coke.

Jones was suspended for three games by the NFL and, after pleading not guilty, agreed to enter a drug treatment program.

On Mar. 9, 2009, Jones violated his court-ordered treatment program when he tested positive for alcohol. He was arrested and sentenced to 10 days in jail.

The 6-6, 220-pound receiver was drafted by Jacksonville in the first round of the 2005 draft. Despite the suspension, he had his best season in 208 with 65 receptions for 761 yards and two TDs,

He SHOULD go to prison. All these fuckin coke and crack heads are the reason people all over are down on pot. It's just one more statistic in favor of calling pot a "gateway drug". If he's dumb enough to be in the back of a car doing that stuff then fuck him, lock his ass up. Oh yeah screw that whole program crap.

For those of you who don't know much about The Honorable Mary Ann Gunn's drug court program, you might want to look into it before you say nothing happened to Matt Jones. From my understanding that was what he was sentenced with. Although it is a 9 month program , check the statistics on how many people actually do that. Most of the people I know that have went through the program either don't get through it and end up in prison or it takes them almost two years. I won't go into all the details, but check your facts before you open your mouth!
