The latest salvo from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) poses this leading question, "What has weed doen for you?" The answers, of course, are a laundry list of irresponsible and anti-socal behavior, such as stealing, bad grades and one kid who lies on a couch and says, "I let people draw on me!"

Will these idiotic ads continue under Obama?

ONDCPHere's the script:

This spot is shot as proud and dramatic, with uplifting, anthemic music underneath. We open on a kid in his little sister’s room.

COUCH KID: I stole from my little sister!

Cut to a girl holding up a report card.

D+ GIRL: I got straight D’s! Cut to a guy on his bed.

CELL PHONE GUY: I left me ex-girlfriend 27 messages last night!

Cut to a girl with a woman who has been crying.

GIRL: I made my mother cry!

Cut to a kid who is being drawn on.

DRAWN ON KID: I let people draw on me!

Open on a guy sitting in his car in the drive way.

KID: I ditched my friends and let them find their own way home.

Cut back to shots of them looking at the camera and nodding with pride.

Well my fiance has made the deans list for 2 semesters, that's what pot has done for him...any questions?
How can these people who create these commercials be so ignorant? Don't knock it till you try it! I don't smoke cuz personally it makes me feel like I peed my pants, but that's just the way it affects me. I think that by not making it legal, at least it keeps it affordable! If it were legal, they could charge up the arse for it! But that commercial just makes the people who made it look ridiculous!

I smoked everyday for about 3 years now, and my grades actually improved since I started in high school. Now I'm in college (no, not community college) and I'm still making 3.0. Not only that, but I'm also an eagle scout, and it's funny that out of all the other eagle scouts I have known, about half of them smoked buddha.

My roomate is majoring in Nuclear Engineering and is making pretty solid grades, although I don't know how he does it. He is on his last month of probation for being arrested for posession (he actually got busted on 420, suck right?). He had to work a 21 hour-a-week job, do 200 something hours of community service, and pay a 2000 dollar fine over the course of several months, and see his p.o every month; after all that, me and him STILL smoked up every day. He's the hardest working person I know, and if he wasn't on probation, he would smoke weed everysingle day

These videos are laughable, to an extent...after their comedic value wears off, it's clearly apparent, and angering to a degree that they are just more of the same mindless, tired rhetoric based on half-truths and distorted "facts."
Some of us should take the initiative and take to Youtube some home-grown vids of what all good the herb has done for us.

Do they not realize that those are all things you do from getting drunk?

Drunk Dialing?
Drunk Driving?
Getting drawn on because you passed out DRUNK?

These are not symptoms of pot addiction, I smoke and wouldn't be offended if they did offer the "bad" side of weed (which is fairly mild, coming from someone with an alcoholic brother) but these aren't even symptoms of pot addiction, they are symptoms of ALCOHOLISM!

It doesn't matter if someone thinks that other people shouldn't smoke pot. Cannabis had never proven to be a threat to public safety, so there's no reason why ther can be laws against it. Laws thet are not in the best interest of the general public and are not enforceable are lot valid laws. Repealing the cannabis prohibition laws is a great way to restore a general respect for the law and more accountable law enforcement. Not to mention it's a huge waste of money and law enforcement on something that's not a crime in and of itself. Laws are supposed to define crimes not invent them out of thin air.

Weed doesn't make you lazy, brotha. Being lazy makes you lazy. Infinite successful people smoke weed. It's not a cause and effect relationship.

Also, I like the kid who says "I let people draw on me." They do realize that's a daily activity in colleges, due to overconsumption of alcohol. Which is, by the way, legal.

I hope some doubters watch 'In Pot We Trust.' Maybe some of these completely clueless anti-marijuana organizations can then understand "what weed has done for me."

Do you think legalizing would actually work? Just think if they did that. The top 3 tobacco companies would be the largest pot suppliers in the world and would jack up the price so high that no one could afford to grow their own. They would control the industry -- just like the tobacco industry. Then you would have a workforce constantly on pot and too lazy to work or be productive. That is NOT what America needs right now.

[open on a smiling adult holding a joint]
weed lady: I found a non- addictive alternative to my usual beer & a cigarette!
[cut to a pair of smiling cops holding a crying kid in handcuffs]
cop: we wasted 2 hours busting a 14 year old's pot party... while several convenience stores were robbed at gunpoint just down the street!
[cut to a diverse group of people with their arms around each other, all smiling]
group (together): we found a way to bond, despite our differences!
[cut to smiling drug dealer]
drug dealer: I made $10,000, that could have been generated as tax revenue!
[cut to white screen with "what has weed done for you"]

What a funny commercial. I love the blatant lies and exaggerations they try to preach to everyone.

When will the lies end? They have been doing this shit since the 30's. If you smoke pot, you have mutant babies that will take over the world. Some of this shit is so damn corny it makes me want to smoke more. Quit trying to scare people into believing this crap and fucking legalize it...the money from taxes alone would help out this shitty economy a bunch. BAILOUT MARIJUANA!!

Baby boomers are self-righteous cocksuckers, and are largely responsible for the slew of anti marijuana propaganda on our airwaves. Their unhealthy obsession with a harmless plant contributes to an unhealthy attitude about drugs in general and motivates rebellious teenagers.

My favorite part is they prove the kid who smoke can drive home just fine after smoking, but that he just got blazed and forgot about his lame ass friends.

"Open on a guy sitting in his car in the drive way.

KID: I ditched my friends and let them find their own way home."

This PSA is awful. Most kid's think the things in the spot are funny and they want to imitate the behavior. This is not the point.
