An old story about Brad Pitt's pot-smoking days is recycling, courtesy of Craig X. Rubin, the Los Angeles marijuana activist who's running for mayor. "It was no secret Brad liked to smoke pot," says Rubin, who claims Pitt was a regular patron of his 2000 BC head shop on Melrose Ave. in the '90s. "He was so open and honest about it."
Rubin wrote all about his celebrity customers in 9021GROW: The Story of Hollywood's Wizard of Weed (2005). He appeared as himself in two episodes of Weeds in 2005 and 2006.
Pitt, he says, "came in once and was excited about smoking with one of his very big-name co-stars. 'We blaze every day in his trailer,' Brad boasted. He had a huge grin on his face." Rubin adds that Pitt wore a T-shirt with "I Live For Hemp" on it, a sweater with a large pot leaf on it and lavished film crew workers with bongs he purchased at 2000 BC.
That was then, however. Now, Pitt, who's married to Angelina Jolie, has allegedly left pot behind. "His whole life has changed since he stopped smoking pot," an anonymous friend says.
Jolie "doesn’t think Brad should smoke pot or anything else,” another insider offers. “She wishes he’d drop all that. A drink once in a while is OK. But that’s it.”
Last year, Jolie admitted, “I’ve done coke, heroin, ecstasy, LSD, everything. But the one that has the worst effect for me was pot. I felt silly and giggly - I hate feeling like that.”
Pitt is currently starring in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. In 1993, he was extremely convincing as the bonghitting Floyd in True Romance (below).

In any case, hope he doesn't loose sight of the 'cause' and begin his new life bashing bhang. Because I would still like to have him in a future movie - from my up-and-coming novel, the first of it's kind, soon to be completed and published this year on POD.
To those interested, and many are, it's a murder mystery that paints our favorite plant, and those that use it, in a good and positive light, for a change. And not, definitely not, the 'dumb stoner' portrayal I've gotten so damn tired of. But then, possibly Pitt is only capable of playing well the stoner of dumbness, and the stretch is beyond him - We'll see. There's always George Cloonie!
Looking forward,
JW
bet jen would have let him smoke...
