Seahawks LB Leroy Hill was arrested after he was apprehended outside of Atlanta, asleep at the wheel of his car at 4 am on Jan. 24. 2009. Police found two bags of weed in his 1975 Buick Electra.

Leroy HillHill had apparently passed out at an intersection. He was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and then released on $1,500 bond.

Hill is from Haddock, which is 70 miles southeast of Atlanta.

On Jan. 27, he offered the customary "my bad" statement: "I want to apologize to my family, my teammates, the Seahawks organization and fans. I am embarrassed by the incident Saturday morning and the poor judgment I showed. Please understand my actions were not consistent with the type of person I hope to become.”

Hill went to Clemson and was picked by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2005 draft. The 6-1, 238-pound linebacker had 37 tackles and just one sack in 11 games last season.

UPDATES: On Apr. 30, 2009, Seattle signed Hill to a six-year, $38 million contract. On Apr. 2, 2010 Hill pled guilty to the charge, was fined $500 and placed on one-year probation. On July 16, the NFL suspended Hill for the first game of the upcoming season.
