Having trouble sleeping? Here’s a great medical marijuana beverage that’s sure to knock your socks off. It tastes fantastic, too!
Ingedients
2-½ cups milk (2% works best) 1-½ teaspoons indica bud (ground but not too fine) 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 8 cardamom pods 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
Simmer all ingredients in pot over medium-low heat for 30 to 45 minutes. Strain. Serve warm. Makes 2 servings.
The result is a really relaxing body high, with great clarity and mood enhancement.
Tips
• This will start to hit you in 15 minutes, but takes about an hour for the effects to be fully noticed. Be patient. • Don’t drink cow’s milk? You can use soymilk. Just use half as much vanilla and maple syrup. • Speaking of milk, 2% works the best as fat ratio goes. Anything less and there’s not enough fat to do the job extracting all the stoney goodness. Whole milk, while best for extraction, has a lot of fat, so you might want to avoid it. • Use real maple syrup, not the high-fructose corn syrup that’s often sold as “maple syrup." • Cut the bud up with scissors. The weed should have enough surface area to be easily extracted into the milk, but be coarse enough to get caught in a strainer. You don’t want bits of bud in your “nightcap.” • Ground nutmeg tastes like cardboard. Fresh nutmeg tastes like heaven. Only use a pinch of the latter, though. It can easily overpower other flavors. • Related to ginger, cardamom is wonderfully aromatic. • A note on dosage: Variety in strain will affect how powerful the drink is. Use my measurements as a guideline, but use your own judgment as well.
