There are few things more satisfying than a toasted sandwich. However, sometimes when you’re feeling the munchies, you don’t want to go through all the effort to put one together. So why not make a few in advance?
These sandwiches will all hold up for a few hours in the fridge. I’ve used whole-wheat pita bread because, in addition to tasting good, it won’t get all soft and gooey.
Here are a few recipes, but you should experiment with your own versions too:
Sweet & Spicy Turkey Oven Roasted Turkey Smoked Gouda Cheese Apricot Preserves Chili Oil or Hot Sauce
Ham & Cheese Sliced Ham Swiss or Gruyere Cheese Dijon Mustard Crushed Garlic
Roasted Red Pepper Roasted Red Bell Pepper Cream Cheese Chives
The assembly is simple. Open the pita and spread sauce or preserves on both sides of the interior. Stuff with other ingredients. Heat in oven or toaster until everything is warm and toasty. Be sure you’re toasty, too. Enjoy!
