Asher Roth: "All My Marijuana Smokers - Unite!" PDF Print E-mail

That party last night was awfully crazy...

Holed up in the penthouse of Hotel on Rivington on New York's Lower East Side, Asher Roth partied on 4/20/09 just like his music and videos promise. The blazin' roof deck on the 20th floor was the quintessential setting for this chart-climbing, breakthrough rapper's CD release party for Asleep in the Bread Aisle.

Roth tells High Times: "Smoking marijuana bring me back down to earth. Some people think pot hinders your thoughts, but for me, it just kind of straightens me out. It good to relax and take a different perspective - get my head where it needs to be. All my marijuana smokers, unite! Let the revolution begin!"

On his hit single, "I Love College" Roth sings: "Drink my beer and smoke my weed."

Wow Deniz, I am a college student who is currently majoring in Micro and Molecular Biology and I plan on attending a Med School. I am Indian (I know, another Indian doctor) and I have a GPA of 3.9. I smoke everyday and when the time comes for me to become an active member of society, I will. I smoke before my classes and after my classes. I study high and take tests high. I tend to do better when I am high. I have even done studies on marijuana effects with my university for research and development. Marijuana IS worse than cigarettes on your lungs even though it DOES NOT cause lung cancer. I listen to Asher Roth - his music is funny, it entertains me. Marijuana is not dangerous. To overdose on THC (the active ingredient in weed) one would need to smoke 75% of their body weight in less than 2 hours. Pretty much impossible. I live by myself and though I am a bit messy and unorganized (I like to think I inherited this from my father) I still do well in most aspects of life. I have an active social life in and out of my college and am going to begin interning soon. If you really think marijuana is bad, you are being ignorant and just listening to what the government tells you. Make your own decisions and think for yourself. Most college students have already mastered this. And contrary to your belief that these parties don't happen, they DO happen. There was one last night while I was trying to study LOL. I don't even think you should compare alcohol with marijuana. Nobody has ever died from marijuana use, only in trafficking, which wouldn't have happened if the government had legalized it. And if you are having a more successful life than Asher Roth, please let me know.

Deniz... You should wise up. A large number of college graduates DO smoke weed. I'm currently in college and I smoke almost everyday, and I have a 3.1 GPA. It's not nearly as bad for you as cigarettes or alcohol are, and those are legal. And uh... he can do what he wants, because he's 23 and supports himself. Once you support yourself your parents really don't have any control over you. And there are parties like that, by the way. I've been to them.

I think Asher Roth is one of the most stupid people who is famous. Smoking weed is ILLEGAL. doesn't he know that? If he actually went to college he would know because a college graduate wouldn't smoke weed. I think Asher Roth should go to jail and not ever come out. he can make some more inappropriate songs and videos from there. even if weed relaxes him, it's really dangerous. he might not know it now but sooner or later he will have to be taken to the hospital. and also don't his parents care about his health? if they don't, what kind of parents do they think they are? Just because he's an adult now, it doesn't mean that he can just run off and do what he wants. he has to think about the huge mistakes he's making in life. I also don't think there are house parties in real life college like he talks about in the song.

The revolution has begun, we do need to unite and stand up for what we believe in. But we can't just us words or the internet to fight this struggle, we need to donate to the freedom fighters as well, we need more ads on TV and more lobbyist in congress, in order to make a difference. Asking the President online gets us laughed at, money talks!
