Day 3 of "America's High" - Anderson Cooper's weeklong examination of the marijuana issue - featured CNN medical expert Dr. Sanjay Gupta and THCF's Paul Stanford.
Gupta started off by saying, "There are some medical benefits to marijuana." He stated that patients dealing with chemotherapy or those who suffer from neuropathic pain and MS can gain relief by using cannabis.
He said that while there may be some short-term issues related to marijuana use such as memory loss, Gupta maintained that "it is harder to make the statement right now about the longer term dangers of marijuana."
On the addiction question, he noted, "There are criteria for withdrawal... it could be mood related with physical manifestations." In a chart, marijuana was listed as the least likely drug to cause addiction (5%-9%) as compared to tobacco (31%), heroin (23%), cocaine (17%), alcohol (15%) and stimulants (11%).
Gupta pretty much dismissed Marinol as an alternative for smoked marijuana, which he said "you can titrate a little bit more easily so you can get the appropriate dose." In his interview, Stanford, who runs the THCF Medical Clinics and was described as a "pot pusher," said marijuana "is a healthy alternative and much safer than alcohol and tobacco... It has a lot of medical benefit, and so if we look at the science we're going to win."
In Canada our media barely talks about Marijuana, especially asks questions about it be it about the plant or the societal factors, why? because we already know it's a benign plant. CNN is dumb, that's the only word i have to explain this segment.

I'd have to say Dr. Guppy doing a 180 on medical marijuana was the highlight. Shame on AC for his 'KingBong/PotPusher tag he dropped on Paul.

Dr. Gupta should pay more attention to the real health issues occurring at his workplace. Plus, Tonny Maddox and Phil Kent should be more concerned in the credibility of CNN and TBS in general since CNN fired an employee who was dying of a tumor. Mario Vela couldn’t read well, think well or speak well, neither speak his mind when CNN sent to him a termination of employment package lifting his medical benefits and more. What a company!!
RIP Mario Vela. This video of Mario should be a remainder of what companies should not do to employees.
