Reclusive comic Dave Chappelle made an surprise appearance in Portland's Pioneer Square on July 15. Thousands of fans filled the square, hoping to see a stand-up performance. "I didn't know I was still famous," he told the crowd before leaving the stage at 2 am, declaring: "This is the greatest show that almost happened."

How does a Portland native like myself not hear about something as momentous as one of my generation best comics showing up in the center of my city untill 12 hours later. How can he not beleive he would draw a crowd like that? At least he gave it a shot rockin that microphone with that crowd. Keep it goin Dave! (And come back soon!)

I hope Dave had a chance to sample some of the local goods. There are a lot of different danky strains right now including blueberry and indica. Gone are the days of bad Canadian cough weed. Maybe after a few good rips he will come to the realization that no good can come from any book that celebrates violence and makes killers heroes. Never give a Republican the freshy.
