Michael Douglas' oldest son, Cameron, was nabbed by the DEA in New York on July 28, 2008 and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. It was Douglas' second drug arrest since 2007.

Holed up in the Gansevoort Hotel, Douglas, 30, reportedly mailed nearly a half pound (215 grams) of crystal meth to a post office box.

"Cameron was living at a hotel, renting his room by the month and also had a similar setup in Miami and LA," one source states. "A DEA informant visited Cam [in NYC] to set up a buy - he wanted a large amount of crystal meth, about 20 grams worth. The informant told DEA [Cameron] was strung out and his hotel room at the Gansevoort and was a mess."

The plot thickeened on Aug. 10 when Douglas' girlfriend Kelly Sott was arrested after delivering an electric toothbrush stuffed with bags of heroin to his mother Diandra's New York townhouse and Douglas was taken to the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

UPDATES: On Jan. 27, Douglas pled guilty to selling meth and cocaine. On Apr. 20, he received a five-year sentence.

Douglas, who played a stoner in It Runs in the Family in 2003, was previously arrested for coke in 2007 and 1998. DOUGLAS' 2007 MUG SHOT

"The family is devastated and very disappointed in Cameron's recent behavior," Michael and Diandra stated.

Michael Douglas recently weighed in on the drug legalization debate: "It's something that needs to be discussed a little more. It's an economic issue and a violence issue."

And now, once again, a Douglas family issue.
