Brad Pitt is sure sending mixed marijuana messages these days. First, the actor claims he stopped smoking pot because it was turning him into a "doughnut." Then, he says he'd tax and regulate cannabis if he were mayor of New Orleans. Now, director Quentin Tarantino dishes that Pitt recently handed him a chunk of hash in France.

Add to that Pitt's appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher, during which the host marveled at Pitt's joint-rolling skills.

"I'm an artist," Pitt cooly responded.

During their trip to France, Tarantino told Howard Stern that Pitt "takes this brick of hash, whips out a knife like Jesse James and cuts me off a big slither. I go, 'Do you have a pipe to go with this?' And he handed me a Coke can!"

Pitt stars in Tarantino's latest film, Inglourious Basterds, which opens on Friday.
