As we reported earlier this week, ousted White House "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones spoke at the NORML Conference in 2002.

Here are some highlights:

• "This is the drug war that you must stop... There is much more at stake than just your individual freedom and your individual rights. The government's attack is a part of a broader attack, a violent attack, a vicious attack, a genocidal attack - and we [African Americans] can't stop it by ourselves."

• "If you are able in your efforts to end Prohibition, you will have done a great thing. You will have taken one fang out of the mouth of a violent beast that been oppressing and murdering and killing for over 400 years on these shores."

• "End the prohibition of drugs in this country - but do more than that..."
