What if the Army let its macho guard down and allowed for free thought? You'd have the New Earth Army, which is the focus of Grant Haslov's oddball comedy starring George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey. Watch the trailer

Part Catch-22, part Jacob's Ladder, The Men Who Stare at Goats follows newsman Bob Wilton (McGregor) on a remarkable journey that begins in Kuwait, where he meets Lyn Cassady (Clooney), a retired New Earther. In flashbacks, we learn how Bill Django (Bridges) founded the division largely utilizing Zen concepts of mind power by training soldiers to be "warrior monks" and Jedis who could literally walk through walls.

This theme is often played for laughs, with numerous pratfalls, as Bridges channels his inner "Dude." But when a young recruit commits suicide after being heavily dosed with LSD by Django's nemesis Larry Hooper (Spacey), Django is drummed out of the ranks.

Lyn and Bob head to Iraq, where they're kidnapped, but ultimately find Hooper's base (and Django) in the desert, complete with a barn full of goats. Lyn and Django spike the camp's powdered eggs and water with acid, prompting much hilarity and wackiness, and ultimately saving the day and this trippy movie.
