Katt Williams Busted for Burglary PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 November 2009 02:06

Top CelebStoner Katt Williams said his arrest for burglary and criminal trespassing in Newnan, Georgia on Nov. 8, 2009 "was a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives." He was released the following day on $41,150 bail from the Coweta County Jail.

Williams had been staying on the estate of Barry Hankerson. Hankerson's producing The Obama Effect, a drama written and directed by Charles S. Dutton. It's unclear what role, if any, Williams has in the movie.

On Nov. 3, police received a call saying Williams was threatening someone on the property. On Nov. 8, Daniel Broach called the police, claiming Williams had broken into the guest house and stolen jewelry and coins worth $3,500.

Williams lawyer William Briggs says the robbery never happened and speculated that Williams was falsely charged by a person he was having a dispute with at he house.

"I'm one of the most honorable people in my profession," Williams stated upon his release from jail.

In 2008, Williams was arrested for gun possession in New York. The charge was dismissed in June.
