Perhaps the ultimate CelebStoner, Marilyn Monroe smoked pot some 50 years ago. In a stunning minute-long film clip recorded in 1958 or 1959, the iconic actress and pin-up girl is seen puffing a joint with friends.

The silent color footage, shot in an undisclosed home in New Jersey, was recently purchased by Keya Morgan for $275,000. Monroe is sitting on a couch with friends. She's given the joint, takes a solid hit and then passes it to her right.

"It was not a party," says the seller, who shot the film and has not been identified. "It was just a get-together. You know, come over and hang out. I got it (the pot). It was mine. It was just passed around."

Morgan adds: "This is the late '50s so she is already very famous, but this is a personal side of her we've never seen before. People have never seen her in such a relaxed pose."

The smiling and gorgeous Monroe appears to be enjoying herself. The two other women in the footage have also not been identified.

Morgan is a collector. He owns the New York-based Keya Gallery, which boasts "the world's largest selections of original historical photographs, manuscripts, autographs and documents."

Who knew that screen siren Marilyn Monroe was a stoner?! Stories of Marilyn Monroe’s dalliance with drugs are well known; today’s news that she tried marijuana is a first I believe. Expect all to be revealed soon – when the copyrighted image will be put up for sale on eBay later this week. I presume this has a Price Protector. The person who has the copyright wouldn't want to be grabbing copies of it.
