Don Donahue. Blast from the past.
In the Bay Area in '69 the word went out that if you wanted to take part in the Free Art Movement, he was the man to see. So me and my wife headed across the bay to The San Francisco Opera house to get some work done by him. You brought your art paper and he did the printing for free.
Took a freight elevator ride to the Opera House garrett and waked through all these stored props and flats to the back where he had a space set up with an offset printing press.
Turns out he was helping the comic artists by having them do their own separations, thus lowering the price of printing markedly, so they could put out The Furry Freak Brothers and Mr. Natural and such.
Thank you again Don for being you. Without you Wonder Wart Hog might never have seen the light of day....
