The Marijuana Policy Project's 15th Anniversary bash featured Cheech & Chong, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson and Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen on Jan. 13, 2010.

Gov. Johnson played to the crowd, stating: "We need to legalize marijuana. Let's tax it and regulate it and control it."

Rep. Cohen noted that "most of my colleagues didn't want to be here and aren't here." Explaining why he decided to advocate for marijuana policy reform, the Congressman joked, "It was high time that someone other than Barney Frank spoke up on this issue."

Cheech & Chong earned the MPP's Trailblazer Award. Former Republican Maryland Delegate Don Murphy hosted, and patient Julie Falco and Dr. Joseph McSherry received advocate awards.

Also in the house: Ed Rosenthal, Debby Goldsberry, Jack Cole, Rick Doblin, Steve DeAngelo, Eric Sterling, Chuck Thomas, Dr. Mitch Earleywine, Mason Tvert, Don Wirshafter, Steve Silverman, Aundre Speciale, David Bronner, Brian Murphy, Howard Woolridge, John Pylka, Eric Steenstra, Paul Cornwell and Larryuana.

For those who are interested, you can find Gary Johnson’s new website at here

I also found an official Facebook group that was just created here

I have already expressed my support for his cause and I hope that everyone takes a moment to do the same.
