The Marijuana Policy Project's 15th Anniversary bash featured Cheech & Chong, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson and Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen on Jan. 13, 2010.
Gov. Johnson played to the crowd, stating: "We need to legalize marijuana. Let's tax it and regulate it and control it."
Rep. Cohen noted that "most of my colleagues didn't want to be here and aren't here." Explaining why he decided to advocate for marijuana policy reform, the Congressman joked, "It was high time that someone other than Barney Frank spoke up on this issue."
Cheech & Chong earned the MPP's Trailblazer Award. Former Republican Maryland Delegate Don Murphy hosted, and patient Julie Falco and Dr. Joseph McSherry received advocate awards.
