Gov. Jon CorzineIt's official. New Jersey's the 14th state to legalize medical marijuana. Yesterday, one week after the Compassionate Use Act passed the legislature, outgoing Gov. John Corzine signed the bill into law. It takes effect in six months.

New Jersey joins California (1996); Alaska, Oregon, Washington (1998); Maine (1999); Hawaii, Colorado (2000); Nevada (2001); Montana (2004); Vermont (2005); Rhode Island (2006); New Mexico (2007); Michigan (2008).
