Leif Garrett Nabbed with Heroin in L.A. Subway

Singer/actor Leif Garrett is in trouble again. Los Angeles police arrested him on Monday at a Metrolink station after he admitted having black tar heroin stashed in his shoe. Garrett was charged with felony possession.

"He was sweating and shaking profusely" on the Pershing Square Metrolink platform in downtown L.A., a police spokesman stated.

Garrett told them he "gets nervous around law enforcement because of his prior experience." He was released on $10,000 bail on Wednesday.

In 2006, Garrett was busted in the L.A. subway with heroin and Quaaludes, and spent three months in jail.

Garrett's descent from a teen idol to junkie has been well documented on shows like VH1's Behind the Music.

Born in 1961, Garrett (nee Leif Per Nervik) began acting professionally as a child and appeared in the counterculture classic Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice in 1969. His movie resume includes Walking Tall (1973), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978), Thunder Alley (1985), The Spirit of '76 (1990) and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003).

In 1978, he had a Top 10 hit with the disco song, "I Was Made for Dancin.'"
