Johnny DeppThis is shaping to be a big year for stoner movies. Here's the spring rollout:

Mar. 5 - Alice in Wonderland
Johnny Depp (left) stars as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's interpretation of the Disney classic. Mia Wasikowska is Alice and Alan Rickman eats up the scenery as the hookah-smoking Blue Caterpillar. Watch the trailer here

Mar. 19 - The Runaways
Top CelebStoner Kristen Stewart stars as Joan Jett in Floria Sigismondi's bio-pic of the '80s girl group. Dakota Fanning (Cheri Currie), Scout Taylor-Compton (Lita Ford) and Stella Maeve (Sandy West)) are also in the band.

Apr. 2 - Breaking Upwards
Real-life couple Zoe Lister Jones and Daryl Wein chart their unusual breakup in this fascinating indie feature written by Jones and Wein (and Peter Duchan) and directed by Wein. Andrea Martin of SCTV fame plays Zoe's pot-smoking mom. Watch the trailer here.

Leaves of Grass Release postponed until the summer
This much-awaited festival hit directed by Tim Blake Nelson stars Edward Norton in a double role as twin brothers. Oklahoma redneck Brady Kincaid enlists his college prof brother Bill to get back at a local drug dealer played by Richard Dreyfuss. Watch the trailer here.

Apr. 9 - When You're Strange: A Film About the Doors
Tom DiCello uses archival footage to tell the story of one of rock's most beloved bands, led by the mercurial Jim Morrison. Watch the trailer here.
Cheech & Chong's Hey Watch This
Apr. 20 - Cheech & Chong's Hey Watch This
Cheech & Chong return to the silver screen with a concert film recorded last year in San Antonio during their Light Up America reunion tour. It's being billed as the dopey duo's "first joint venture in 25 years." Watch the trailer here.

Apr. 3 - Phish 3-D
Lawrence Jordan and Eli Tishberg's Phish concert movie was shot at Festival 8 last October in Indio, California. On 4/20, lucky phans in nine cities - Boston, Burlington, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Raleigh-Durham and Washington, DC. - will get to see advance screenings of film. • Natalie Portman will produce and star in Best Buds about "two female friends who take a road trip to their friend’s wedding in order to save her by bringing her weed."

Marlon Wayans will play Richard Pryor in Bill Condon's bio-pic.

• First Independent Pictures has acquired the rights to 2010 Sundance winner Holy Rollers, starring Jesse Eisenberg as a Hasidic Jew who gets involved in an international Ecstasy smuggling ring. It opens on May 21.
