Changes are afoot at the Green Lady of Park Avenue. High Times launched a medical marijuana off-shoot magazine, promoted longtime staffer Dan Skye to executive editor and announced its first-ever Medical Cannabis Cup.

David Bienenstock and Elise McDonough, the editor-art director team behind Medical Marijuana News & Reviews, relocated from New York to Santa Cruz and opened a West Coast High Times office.

The 84-page quarterly combines new material and reprints from High Times.

Skye returned to the position he held in the '90s under Steve Hager. The difference for Skye now is he's the magazine's editor without the official title. In 2009, he interviewed Oliver Stone for the 35th Anniversary issue.

In the cultivation department, Danny Danko (above) replaced longtime grow columnist Jorge Cervantes. Danko has big shoes to fill. Before "Jorge's Rx," it was "Ask Ed" (Rosenthal). Now's it's "Dear Danko." Follow him at Twitter.

On Mar. 21, High Times will give out the Doobie Awards (for music) in Austin with Bobby Black and Vaporella hosting.
