Tommy Morrison Pinched for Pot Pipe PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 08 March 2010 22:02

Best known for winning the heavyweight title in 1993 by defeating George Foreman, Tommy Morrison has battled drugs and been arrested several times since then. On Mar. 4, 2010, he was charged with suspicion of marijuana possession in Wichita, Kansas when police discovered a resinated pipe in his car.

Tommy Morrison"I was just sitting there doing my normal routine, and I guess someone thought I looked suspicious and called the cops," Morrison said about the bust.

The 41-year-old boxer was minding his own business in his car outside Snap Fitness when police swooped in and asked to search the car, which was filled with boxes (he'd recently moved from Tennessee to Kansas). "They found an old pipe that had some residue on it," Morrison added.

He was taken to Sedgwick County Jail and released two hours later on $4,000 bond.

Morrison's rap sheet  includes a 2000 arrest for coke and gun possession in Fayetteville, Arkansas (he served 14 months in jail) and a prior DUI in Oklahoma, where he's from.

Morrison (48-3-1) won his last match in 2009.
