Oscar winner Forest Whitaker is picking up an instrument again, this time the trumpet, to portray CelebStoner Legend Louis Armstrong in the upcoming What a Wonderful World.

"He smoked weed every day," says Whitaker, who will also direct. "It's in the movie where he wrote to the president to try and make it legal. We will have that in the film."

Armstrong, a.k.a. Satchmo, sent his pro-marijuana missive to Dwight Eisenhower while he was president in the '50s.

In 1998, Whitaker starred in Bird, the Charlie Parker biopic directed by Clint Eastwood about the drug-addicted saxophone great. Watch the trailer.
