Celebrities who support the marijuana cause are hailed here as Top CelebStoners. There are currently 51 Top CelebStoners. This list reflects current activities such as movies, TV shows, albums, concert tours and general news. The 10 Top CelebStoners are:
1. Snoop Dogg Hip-hop's leading weed smoker was arrested in Texas for possession on Jan. 7. Snoop Dogg has been busted three other times for marijuana. He's the subject of a very unique portrait made of joints and actual weed. Snoop turned 40 on Oct. 20.
2. Willie Nelson The music industry's leading voice for reforming marijuana laws was arrested for possession on Nov. 26, 2010 in Texas. This sparked the formation of the Teapot Party. Willie Nelson is on the advisory board of NORML. He turned 78 on Apr. 30.
3. Bill Maher The host of HBO's Real Time (watch at 10 pm EST on Fridays) keeps his hand on the marijuana pulse with sharp commentaries and observations. Bill Maher regularly appears as a pundut on CNN and does stand-up performances around the county. Last year, he interviewed the Drug Policy Alliance's Ethan Nadelmann.
4. Cameron Diaz The spunky actress was photographed smoking a joint with BFF Drew Barrymore in Hawaii in 2007. Cameron Diaz says she bought pot from Snoop Dogg when they went to the same Long Beach high school. Last year, she played a pot smoker who thinks "weed is awesome" in Bad Teacher. Diaz is the 2011 Top CelebStoner.
5. Tommy Chong The stoner-comedy legend occasionally tours with his partner, Cheech Marin. They appear in Cheech & Chong's Magic Brownie Adventure, a longform General Mills ad. Last year, Tommy Chong played a judge on Franklin & Bash and was featured on The Green Room. He turned 73 on May 24.
6. Seth Rogen Last year, the comic actor smoked medical marijuana in 50/50 and voiced the stoner alien title character in Paul. He married Laurnen Miller on Oct. 2. Seth Rogen regularly talks about his love of weed in TV and print interviews. While presenting at the 2011 Grammys, he joked he'd been backstage "getting high with Miley Cyrus."
7. Amy Poehler The star of Parks & Recreation once co-hosted of the High Times Cannabis Cup and Stony Awards when she performed with the Upright Citizens Brigade. As co-anchor of "Weekend Update" on Saturday Night Live, Amy Poehler regular delivered the weed jokes. She was nominated for a 2012 Golden Globe award.
8. Drew Barrymore The Hollywood stoner starlet was photographed smoking a joint with fellow Top CelebStoner Cameron Diaz in Hawaii in 2007. She traded bong hits with Justin Long in Going the Distance. Drew Barrymore is currently appearing in Big Miracle and is engaged to Will Kopelman.
9. Doug Benson The star of Super High Me and The Marijuana-Logues had his own show, The Benson Interruption, in 2010 on Comedy Central. Doug Benson regularly tours the comedy-club circuit around the county. He hosts the popular podcast, Doug Love Movies. Check him out at Twitter.
10. Gary Johnson The former governor of New Mexico is vying for the Libertarian presidential nomination in 2012. A long-time proponent of legalizing marijuana, Gary Johnson makes every effort to push the drug-reform issue wherever he goes - on Fox and The Colbert Report, and in blogs that appear at Huffington Post and CelebStoner.
