Bobby Hebb's 'Sunny' PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 04 August 2010 03:30

Bobby HebbBobby Hebb, who passed away from lung cancer on Aug. 3, said he was intoxicated when he wrote "Sunny" in 1963. "I came home and started playing the guitar. I looked up and saw what looked like a purple sky. I started writing because I'd never seen that before."

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain
Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain

Hebb didn't record "Sunny" until 1966, the same year he toured with the Beatles.

There are many versions of "Sunny." James Brown's is our favorite:
