From Bongwater to Old School, Luke Wilson has starred in his share of stoner movies. In Middle Men, Wilson plays Jack Harris, who gets rich selling porn on the Internet.
The scheme starts as Wayne (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck (Gabriel Macht) scoop up large amounts of blow. When they post pics of nude women on their website, people are willing to pay $10 per visit. The key is the payments are anonymous. Soon they're rolling in dough and of course even more coke.
Jack steps in and takes the business to a new level. But when an unpaid debt to a Russian mobster leads to the death of his associate, all hell breaks loose. Enter Jerry Haggerty (Caan) - a piece of work played for laughs by Caan.
While Wayne and Buck are constantly binging, Jack goes along for the ride. He has a wife and kids at home in Texas, but can't resist temptation while he's away in L.A., ultimately falling for porn star Audrey Dawns (Laura Ramsey).
George Gallo's kinetic direction sets the right tone for this audacious indie flick.
