Stoner starlet Paris Hilton was arrested on Aug. 27 in Las Vegas for possessing cocaine. Police also busted her boyfriend, Cy Waits, who was driving the car, for DUI.

Hilton Update: After admitting that "I was in possession of cocaine," Hilton pled guilty to two misdemeanors - drug possession and obstructing an officer - on Sept. 20. She received to two six-month (suspended) sentences and will be on probation for a year. Hilton must pay a $2,000 fine, enter a substance abuse program and perform 200 hours of community service. All for less than a gram of coke. On Sept. 21, Hilton was not allowed to enter Japan and was forced to cancel an Asian business trip that included stops in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Indonesia.

On Aug. 27, a motorcycle cop "followed the vapor trail and the odor of marijuana" coming from a Cadillac Escalade on Las Vegas Blvd. at 11:30 pm and pulled it over. "Hilton told me that she was extremely embarrassed, due to all the people taking pictures of her, and she did not want to be seen by them," the police report says. "She said she wanted to stay and see what was going to happen to Waits, but also needed to use the bathroom. She asked (Lt.) Flynn if he would escort her inside the Wynn Hotel to protect her from the crowd."

Flynn took Hilton to a holding area inside the hotel. "While we were waiting for the female officer to arrive, Hilton said she needed to put some lip balm on, and I handed her the purse from the table," the report continues. The plastic bag containing the coke fell out of the Chanel handbag. "She told me the purse was not hers, and that she had borrowed it from a friend," Flynn added. "I asked Hilton whose cocaine it was, and she said she had not seen it but now thought it was gum."

However, Hilton said a $1,300 cash, credit cards, one tablet of Albuterol and a pack of Zig Zags in the purse belonged to her.

Hilton was later also charged with obstructing justice because she said the purse wasn't hers. ""In truth, the Defendant purchased the Chanel handbag months earlier," the police complaint states.

While searching the SUV, police also found a roach. "It was wet (and) unable to be tested," the police report noted. "I could smell marijuana coming out of the vehicle. Pulled up to passenger side (and) driver stated he just got done smoking."

Hilton was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. (The cocaine weighed 0.8 grams.) Waits, who managed the Tryst club in the Wynn Las Vegas hotel at the time, failed the sobriety test and received a DUI. Hilton was released from Clark County jail at 2:45 am without having to post bail. Waits' bail was set at $2,000 and was released later that day.

Waits Update: On Jan. 20, Hilton's boyfriend was charged with felony DUI (driving under the influence of marijuana and misdemeanor DUI and possession of marijuana, also a misdemeanor.

It was Hilton's third run-in with the law since July. She was detained but not arrested for possessing marijuana at the World Cup in South Africa on July 2 and at the airport in Corsica on July 16.
