Bryan Cranston and Mad Men took top Emmys for the third year in a row and Cranston's Breaking Bad cast mate Aaron Paul was a surprise winner at the 62nd Emmy Awards last night.
Cranston and Paul won lead actor and supporting actor awards in the drama category for their roles on AMC's meth-centric series set in New Mexico.
Though shut out in the acting awards, Mad Men took the coveted Outstanding Drama award.
Modern Family was named Outstanding Comedy, besting 30 Rock.
30 Rock's Tina Fay and Park and Recreation's Amy Poehler lost to Nurse Jackie's Edie Falco in the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series category. The Good Wife's Archie Panjabi upset Mad Men's Elizabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category.
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart won again for Outstanding Variety Series, besting The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher and Saturday Night Live. Stewart was a no-show.
Al Pacino accepted Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his portrayal of Jack Kevorkian in HBO's You Don't Know Jack. Clare Danes won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her turn as an autism activist in HBO's Temple Grandin.
The only reality show to win was Top Chef in the Outstanding Reality Competition category.
Host Jimmy Fallon did a lot of music skits, opening with "Born to Run."
Only 26 of the 100 Emmy Awards are given out at the show. The rest were announced on Aug. 21. Weeds earned an Emmy in the Outstanding Cinematography for a Half Hour Series category for Michael Trim's camera work in the Season 5 episode, "A Modest Proposal."
