Cali Chronic X
When you Google Marijuana Model or Pot Model the top 15 or 20 listings are Natty aka Natalie Kenly ~ Charlie Sheen's Ex, Our 3X Cover Girl who has inadvertently steered 1000's of people to search out our Magazine Cali Chronic X. She was on TMZ, GMA, The Today show, E! News, Entertainment Tonight etc... She is a card-carrying MMJ patient and in fact Cali Chronic X met her when she and her BF picked us up to go to a Charles Lynch Protest/Rally in Downtown LA. Her international exposure at the very least created attention regarding MJ that may have otherwise not occurred.

Holy Hemptress [the original]
I have been working very hard 24/7/365 days a year for over 36 years now. I worked with Harvey Milk [RIP], Dennis Peron, Hazel Rodgers [RIP] and Brownie Mary [RIP], Dr. Tod Mikuriya [RIP] was my personal medical doctor and because of him I beat breast cancer. Jack Herer [RIP] will always be my mentor and cherished friend of over 22 years. I work for free for NORML, CAN, ASA, MPP and anyone else in this cause that simply asks me too. Check out my website. I would like to be considered the next time you add to this list, thanks! Sonjia Miles

Hello there:) i'm from Romania and i would like tell u that one woman from the top 100 women of weed from 2010 that comes from my country... her name is Elena Basescu (know as EBA) and is the daughter of the president and she didn't do nothing for the weed legalization or decriminalization... she introduced in our country the drugs that are legal, that means some herbs with perfume on them and some that nobody knows what they are but it's stronger than coke and this substances destroy our young generation... instead of smoking weed they smoke those laboratory herbs that are called Spice, and lots of young people are going crazy. so EBA doesn't belong in that top 100 from skunk magazine of 100 women of weed. hope u can tell them this somehow and have here removed because she doesn't support the weed. peace and love

Sara Cannon? Are you kidding me? Because she falsely accused someone of sexual assault?

BASESCU
My daughter - Elena Basescu, EBA for friends - is on the list because she was convinced that smoking weed it's legal in the US. Back in the days when she was there for shopping, curriculum vitae purposes and theoretically/maybe studying she heavily smoked everywhere. Being my beloved daughter she isn't afraid nor give a damn about the police.

Your list of influential women activists would be sadly incomplete without including Granny Storm Crow. Over the past three years, Granny has researched, organized, created and distributed a wildly comprehensive list of research demonstrating the medical efficacy of cannabis, with links to the published studies. Granny makes this list available, free of charge, over the Internet.

This ridiculous list is an embarrassment for the true marijuana activists, those on the frontlines of the movement actually doing something to change local policy.

The Skunk top 100 list does have some good women but it also has a lot of internet "pot models" that no one has heard of outside of MySpace, celebrities that have nothing to do with marijuana and that don't even indulge or advocate it, edibles bakers the world hasn't heard of and other women that are obviously just buddy-buddy with Skunk staff.

I know a handful of obvious, well-known, hardworking women in the cannabis culture that should be on this list.

Please understand that we're talking about influential women in the cannabis world and that doesn't just include activists and outspoken anti-prohibitionists. This list includes those who have influenced the mainstream through arts & culture, as well. So just playing the role of a pot smoker who isn't an idiot is influential enough.

BTW, the title of the article actually is "Over 100 Influential Women of the Cannabis World," not Top 100 women. And although SKUNK HQ is located in Montreal, Quebec, 80-90% of our readership is American.

Please note that WE DIDN'T LEAVE ANYONE OUT - this is not a definitive list by any means. It's an organic legacy that will definitely be added to and look for "Over 100 Influential Women of the Cannabis World Version 2.0" sometime next year. Keep in mind that if we put EVERYONE on there, we wouldn't have room for any articles.

If there were only 114 influential women in the cannabis world, I'd be very, very sad for humanity in general.

Much love & kindness,
Mamakind

I think Elena Basescu is on the list b/c, while she was running for a seat on the European Parliment back in '09, she once said that she'd be in favor of the "legalisation of soft drugs such as cannabis" in Romania. That would've been a cool to say as a politician running for office... if she didn't retract the statement soon after w/ "cannabis should not be legalised in our country, no matter if it is a considered soft drug or not, and no matter if it leads to addiction or not."

Yeah, I'm not sure why she's on the list either.
