Activists and marijuana enthusiasts gathered in the Common on Saturday, from high noon to 6 pm, for the 21st Annual Boston Freedom Rally. Onyx (watch clip below) and Tracy Bonham headlined the diverse band lineup and speakers from NORML, Mass Cann, High Times and CelebStoner addressed the crowd of 25,000 legalizers from two stages.

While two arrests were made and 34 citations handed out, marijuana was openly smoked throughout the day, a major change from previous years when mass arrests marred the otherwise peaceful event before Massachusetts voted to decriminalize pot in 2008.
