Pop singer Bruno Mars was caught sniffing cocaine in a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino bathroom after his performance there on Sept. 19. He was detained and then arrested by Las Vegas police on suspicion of cocaine possession. Police arrived at the hotel at 4455 Paradise Rd. at 1:50 am. Mars (a.k.a. Peter Hernandez) was booked, jailed and released at 7:35 am. The amount was 2.6 grams.

Update: Mars has agreed to plead guilty. He will pay a $2,000 fine, perform 200 hours of community service, attend drug counseling and be on informal probation for one year.

The Hawaiian-born Mars (his parents are Puerto Rican and Filipino) is best known as a songwriter - he co-penned "Nothin' on You" for B.o.B., "Right Round" for Flo Rida and "Billionaire" for Travie McCoy (Mars sings the chorus on "Billionaire" - see clip below). His solo debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, featuring "Just the Way You Are," will be released on Oct. 5. Mars is schedule to perform on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 9.
