Willie Nelson Wants A National Pot Party PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 28 November 2010 16:09

In an exclusive to CelebStoner, Willie Nelson responded to his latest marijuana arrest in Texas by calling for a new political party: "There's the Tea Party. How about the Teapot Party? Our motto: We lean a little to the left."

Willie NelsonWhen Nelson's tour bus was stopped at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca Friday morning, authorities smelled marijuana, searched the vehicle with K-9 dogs and found six ounces of marijuana. Nelson posted a $2,500 bond and was released four hours later.

"Tax it, regulate it and legalize it," Nelson continued in his email to CelebStoner. "And stop the border wars over drugs. Why should the drug lords make all the money? Thousands of lives will be saved."

Nelson has been arrested three times for marijuana - once before in Texas in 2005 and in Louisiana in 2006. The total number of Americans arrested for marijuana in 2009 was 858,408.

In response to the person that posted to say it shouldn't be legal, could you post some actual links that support this point of view?

Shouldn't be legal. That stuff isn't harmless, despite whatever pro-pot propaganda you may have heard. Check some medical studies, studies done by actual doctors and not pro-pot activists, who are likely stoned themselves. That stuff messes up your brain chemistry. Nothing harmless about that.

Legalize it and the only ones profiting from it will be the drug barons.

i suffer with major pain having had 11 major surgeries to my spine and right arm. in calif i could use this as a medicine, and therefore save my organs. now living in a state that it is a felony, i am forced to use western meds that require blood draws every 3 months to check my liver panels. this gov had known forever that pot does not harm anyone. no one has overdosed on it, or killed anyone. it relieves pain for up to 6 hrs at a time and you can still function. yet, to legalize it would put the pharmaceutical companies out of business. i hope in just 2 more years it will be legal. this would also stop the mexican mafia from bringing it over. did we not learn anything about prohibition of booze? thanks for this blessings

Ignorance... Not Willie Nelson, but those DA (Dumb Asses). Those who are all part of arresting Willie should be ashamed of themselves. This is messed up. It's not methed up. Then you could understand about him being arrested, but this is... marijuana. I live in Texas and unfortunately it is not legal medicinally here and they are still thinking like that propaganda film about marijuana (Reefer Madness). Sad?! I suffer excruciating pain from a botched back surgery. I need marijuana because of all the stupid side effects from the other meds. Marijuana counteracts them and I feel better. The flu-like symptoms and extreme tiredness, the burning, stabbing and crushing pain are brought down. I don't feel like throwing up as long as I have marijuana.

I lived where it was legal, but had to move back to Texas. This is how I know it helps. It's a plant God has given us. Cars could made out of hemp - paper, houses, too much to name. The oils that come from marijuana are not only medicinal but can be used in many things.

Next time hopefully Willie it will be legal here in Texas. If it is not soon, I have to move to where it is. I believe Willie Nelson has his own medical reasons for having marijuana. Whoever decided they were going to bust Willie Nelson need to check themselves and reevaluate... Why Willie Nelson? If you're trying to make a point it does not matter who you are. The Law People of that county and community look like a bunch of ignoramuses. It's embarrassing as a Texan to watch and see this happening to Willie Nelson. For all that Willie Nelson has done you want to repay him and not treat him like he's being treated. Drop the charges, find a way, make a way.

The positive that could come of this is Texas realizing the need for medical marijuana. Marijuana is a medicine for many ailments and mental ailments too, such as anxiety, depression etc. Educate yourselves those who can make a difference, you may need it one day too. All States that need to legalize marijuana. It's disgusting to treat Willie Nelson this way. They made their point, that they are soooo stupid and backwards. I am so sad and disgusted about them doing this to Willie Nelson. Educate yourselves and realize how much it helps those of us who need it. Just because you do not need it, you may one day, so find out what you can do to help legalize it medicinally. And what can you do to help Willie Nelson....

Everybody can do it, but is the price of a little down time worth screwin up your whole future? Sure would be nice if it was legal as booze though.
