Pot Charge vs. AC/DC Drummer Dismissed PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 01 December 2010 21:58

Phil RuddBusted in New Zealand on Oct. 7, 2010 for marijuana possession, AC/DC's drummer Phil Rudd pled guilty and paid a $250 fine on Nov. 30. Police had searched his boat docked at the Tauranga Bridge Marina on North Island and found just shy of an ounce of weed (25 grams).

However, on Mar. 31, Tauranga District Judge Alayne Wills dismissed the charge, calling it on the "lower end of the scale." His attorney argued that it would have inhibited Rudd's ability to travel.

Rudd (nee Rudzevecuis), who's Australian, joined the band in 1975. He was fired in 1983 and returned in 1994. Rudd was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with AC/DC in 2003.
