Every so often an activist is voted Top CelebStoner. This month, Henry Hemp prevailed to become the 47th member of this unique cannabis club. You may have seen him at marijuana events. He's the one wearing the foam potleaf hat. But who is Henry Hemp?

Born Magic Jason Ellingson on Dec. 23, 1972 in Vancouver, Washington, he grew up on a six- acre farm and was raised by non-pot smoking parents. After working numerous odd jobs, he moved to Hollywood with hopes of becoming an actor. He's appeared in Ray of Darkness (2005),  Werewolf in a Women's Prison (2006) and Red Sands (2009).

In 2008, Magic Ellington began his transformation to Henry Hemp when he was asked to don the green foam hat for the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade.

"After the parade, I walked home with the hat on," he tells CelebStoner. "I lived right off of Hollywood Blvd. by Grauman's Chinese Theater. Tourists started stopping me, taking pictures and handing me money. A light went on: I decided to use the name Henry Hemp and bought the domain name the next day. As I continued to wear the hemp leaf hat on Hollywood Blvd., I was introduced to The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer, and the seed was planted that I must be like the plant and magicaly help the people of the world realize that hemp is the superhero of all plants!"

Since then Henry Hemp has become a fixture on the West Coast marijuana scene, appearing at every trade expo. He's a sponsor for such products as Green Glass Clean, Chronic Candy and 420 Football, and has a website, YouTube channel, comic book and even a theme song.

"I plan to help educate the world about the hemp plant," Henry Hemp says. "To inform the people of the world that this amazing plant has so many uses in life that it boggles the mind why it's not legal worldwide and used to its fullest potential, from making the finest silks to the body of a car such as Henry Ford did, not to mention the medicinal, spiritual, recreational and creative uses the flower portion of the plant can be used for."

Regarding his new status of Top CelebStoner, Henry Hemp says: "I accept this with rainbows of love and joy. Henry Hemp is engaged January Thomas (aka Ms. Hemp). They're expecting their first child.
