Say No to Nutmeg! PDF Print E-mail
Drug News

New-age guru Dr. Andrew Weil favors the medicinal use of marijuana and even thinks it can cure cancer, but he's down on nutmeg - at least when it's used for psychotropic purposes.

NutmegDr. Andrew Weil"Yes, you can get high on nutmeg," Weil says, "but I doubt that you would enjoy it very much."

Known best as a spice for pumpkin pie and egg nog, nutmeg contains myristicin, a chemical that mimics mescaline. "You have to consume an awful lot of nutmeg to get high - from a tablespoon up to a whole container," he advises. "If you manage to swallow enough, the effects can be variable, ranging from mild feelings of floating to full-blown delirium. The toxic effects (nausea, diarrhea) are so unpleasant that few people who try nutmeg out of curiosity come back for more."

pot for brains
Me and my friends used to bong ground nutmeg. It burns really bad and makes you cough a lot but it can actually make you feel "high." Needless to say the buzz is terrible compared to toking on real chronic. Plus it burns way fast.
