Gaddafi Blames Uprising on Drugs PDF Print E-mail
Drug News

Among the many bizarre statements made this week by embattled Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi was that "hallucinogenic pills" taken by protesters were responsible for the fervor sweeping the nation. That and al-Qaeda.

GaddafiHere's what he said:

• Osama bin Laden had drugged the people, giving them “hallucinogenic pills in their coffee with milk, like Nescafe.”

• "A small group of youth who have been given hallucinogenic pills are raiding police stations here and they're like rats."

•  "They have guns, they feel trigger happy and they shoot especially when they are stoned on drugs... They have been brainwashing the kids in this area and telling them to misbehave. These are the one who are under bin Laden's influence and authority, under the influence of drugs."

• These "kids" have been given a specific drug called the "taxi of jedaya" that makes them feel high and they start misbehaving.

• His son, Saadi, said the protesters were under the influence of “very powerful” drugs like amphetamines and Ecstasy.
