Forty celebrities were arrested for drugs (mostly marijuana) during the first six months of 2011. This doubles the total from the first half of 2010. Last year, 43 celebrities were arrested for drugs. In 2011, that figure will likely double as well.
• Athletes (15) and musicians (13) were arrested for drugs more than other celebrities. Specifically, nine rappers, eight football players and five basketball players were busted.
• The biggest celebrities arrested so far in 2011 were Montel Williams, Sebastian Bach, Rick Ross, Theodora Richards and Sly Stone.
• The rappers arrested were: Dice Raw, Hynief, Juelz Santana, Juvenile, Rick Ross, Tow Down, Truck North, Wacka Flocka and Webbie.
• The NFL players busted were: Kenny Britt, Donald Caldwell, Terry Glenn, Javarris James, James Jolly, Alex Magee and Laurence Maroney.
• The NBA players arrested were Michael Beasley and Dante Cunningham. Three college basketball players - teammates Klay Thompson and DeAngelo Castro, and Jamal Combs-McDaniel - were also busted.
• There were six actors and reality-TV stars arrested: Antoine Dodson, Steve Gold, Jody Lathan, Ezra Miller, Felicia Pearson and April Purvis.
• Former baseball star Lenny Dykstra and boxer Tommy Morrison were also arrested.
• Out of the 38 arrests, 31 were for marijuana. The other drugs were cocaine, heroin, meth, Ecstasy, codeine, Vicodin, Xanax and steroids.
• Only four of the 38 arrestees were women.
• New Jersey led all states with six arrests, followed by New York and Texas (three), and California, Pennsylvania and Georgia (two).
