Gary Johnson Blasts California Dispensary Crackdown PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 07 October 2011 11:07

Sixteen dispensaries were ordered closed on Wednesday as part of the Feds' attempt to shut down California's medical-marijuana industry. The shocking Bush-era tactics are being criticized by activists throughout the state.

Partnership for a Thug-Free AmericaThe Marin Alliance for Medical Marijuana, three stores in San Francisco and a dozen in San Diego were targeted this week by U.S. Attorneys, the DEA and local  authorities as well. Letters were sent to the dispensaries and owners of buildings that house the medi-pot shops stating they must vacate because of zoning issues, such as distances from schools and parks.

"With the federal budget on empty, the economy in disarray, our prisons overflowing and prohibition-related violence raging across the border, it's an outrageous misuse of federal resources to wage war on marijuana dispensaries," says California NORML coordinator Dale Gieringer. "Federal  anti-drug bureaucrats are  afraid because the dispensaries are proving that it's possible for marijuana to become a safe, legal, tax-paying industry and so expose their own last-century policies as  bankrupt and obsolete."

Republican presidential candidate Gary Johnson issued the following statement: "DOJ and the Administration have better things to do than mount an assault on medical marijuana dispensaries in California that are legal under state law. Regardless of one’s view of medical marijuana, Americans who believe in states’ rights should be extremely disturbed that the federal government is in the process of shutting down businesses, threatening criminal charges and confiscating the property of small businesses operating under good faith according to state law... It’s time for the Feds to just admit that their law is just wrong, and let the states decide for themselves how they want to handle the issue of medical marijuana."

They were only going after the shops near schools and parks. Which is completely fine with me, and I am mega-smoker. MAYBE, just maybe the Feds are setting a standard for legalization. Hmmm?

Vote for Ron Paul for marijuana legalization.

Gary Johnson is the only candidate offering common sense solutions and policy prescriptions for the issues of our day. The establishment press treats him like some fringe guy with "crazy" ideas like balancing the budget and subjecting public policy to cost-benefit analyses (like the failed War On Drugs). Maybe if they included him in all of the polls and debates, the voters could actually make an informed decision. Check out more coverage of the Johnson campaign and the Drug War at Spatial Orientation.

The Gov should call out the Guard or State Troopers and stand-down the Feds. STATE'S RIGHTS!

Weird. A couple of tokes seems to improve my aim and precision at the gun range.

But a pillhead or alcoholic can own as many guns as they want? Bullshit! Make the weed legal. We have brain receptors for it and it's natural.

State legalization will never be a real option until we have a pro-liberty president in the White House. Gov. Gary Johnson needs your help to make this happen. You can do this by going to his website right now and donating as little as $4.20. He also needs your feet out there helping to spread the message! Sign up to become a campaign volunteer.

There is also now a nationwide campaign structure in place, with directors in almost every state. Contact yours now and ask him "How can I help?"

How can a government that's for and run by the people tell a state that voted that they can't? We the people own the government and at anytime have the choice to ABOLISH any form of government that's not feasibly working. Don't let them make you their pawns. ABOLISH DEA FOR GOOD! They waste billions of tax dollars and ruin peoples lives. Harry Anslinger is the FUCKING DEVIL!

That's why I'm voting for Governor Gary Johnson! Legalize marijuana, end the wars, equal rights for everyone and balance the budget! Sounds like the guy we need for president!

I guess this is our answer to the White House "We the People" petition service claiming to allow the 99%'s voices heard. Obama has stepped up attacks on 3 different fronts trying to violate states' rights and citizens' liberty!

1) IRS- no tax deductions for MMJ business
2) ATF - no right to bear arms for MMJ patient
3) DEA - raiding legal states grows!

This is why we march! The 99% is tired of politicians refusing us "representation"!
