While campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination in 2007, Mitt Romney told a muscular dystrophy patient, "I'm not in favor of legalizing medical marijuana." He also stated: "The idea of medical marijuana is designed to get marijuana into the marketplace... I'm opposed to it."
