University of Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was arrested for marijuana possession in Bradenton, Florida on Jan. 17. The second-team All-American helped lead the Crimson Tide to the national championship on Jan. 9.

Kirkpatrick was in the passenger seat of UA football alumnus Chris Rogers' truck when police pulled him over for driving in the wrong lane at 12:48 am. A K-9 detected drugs and a bag of marijuana (less than 20 grams) was found near Kirkpatrick's feet. Both were arrested and released on $120 bond each.

Update: On Feb. 7, the charge against Kirkpatrick was dropped.

Kirkpatrick, who was a junior, had already announced that he would be leaving Alabama to enter the NFL draft. The CB is projected to be a Top 10 pick.

Also Arrested in Florida: University of Florida's defensive tackle Leon Orr, who was popped by campus police in his dorm room on Jan. 10 for posseesion of less than 20 grams and possession of paraphernalia. Orr is a redshirt freshman.
