Drug-War Doc Big Winner at Sundance PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 30 January 2012 04:03

The House I Live InEugene Jarecki's The House I Live In won the Documentary Grand Jury Prize at this year's Sundance Film Festival, which concluded in Utah on Saturday. It's about the War on Drugs. "Drugs are a huge problem, a public health problem," says the director of Why We Fight and The Trials of Henry Kissinger. "But the drug war is the bigger problem."

"My hope is to move people away from the drug war," Jarecki tells The Hollywood Reporter. "To move them away from believing tough-on-crime rhetoric from politicians that is simply fortifying their political standing and lining the pockets of corporations who benefit at the expense of everyday people."
