One of America's great and most enduring performers, veteran standup comic George Carlin  passed away on June 22, 2008 from a heart attack. He recently appeared in his 14th HBO special. Like Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce, Carlin was known for riffing on drugs, as he did in his classic 1973 bit, "Grass Swept the Neighborhood."

Sen. Barack Obama has admitted using pot and cocaine during high school and college. Asked he he ever inhaled, the Democratic presidential candidate candidly replied, "That was the point." Obama favors decrimininalization and medical marijuana.
