Barack Obama is the first politician to be voted a Top CelebStoner. The Democratic presidential candidate earned the honor on the strength of the following resume:
• In a 2007 interview, Obama stated: "When I was a kid I inhaled frequently. That was the point." • Speaking to Northwestern University students in 2004, Obama declared: "The War on Drugs has been an utter failure. We need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws." • In a letter to a constituent in 2006, Obama wrote: "I am aware of the argument that legalizing marijuana would make the drug more 'controlled' or safer, and that it may curb the violence associated with the sale of an illegal substance. I also appreciate that many physicians believe that medicinal marijuana can be helpful to some patients." • In 2007, Obama told an activist in New Hampshire: "I wound not have the Justice Department prosecuting and raiding medical marijuana users." He has since made numerous statements in favor of medical use.

unfortunately...
written by 6h0zt , July 11, 2008 you do realize ron paul has officially stepped down, correct? and just so everyone will hate me, Obama, regardless of his marijuana stance, is a junior senator with no foreign policy experience in the midst of one of the more heated international affairs in recent history. I hope for America's sake everyone comes to their senses before November.
Ron Paul has my vote
written by KMkween13 , July 10, 2008 Ron Paul!! 'nuf said... Obama isnt a bad choice, but I agree... he hasnt really taken a pro stance towards legalization. Ron Paul, however, has... and I have faith
One choice, one hope,..Ron Paul
written by P.J. , July 09, 2008 I am not so sure what Obama plans on doing with the war on drugs. But I am for damn sure what Ron Paul plans on doing. Ron Paul is my vote, I agree on almost all issues. He is not brainwashed and he is the one I must support.
barack's agenda?
written by a concerned patient , June 20, 2008 I have not seen any media where obama is clearly for medical marijuana. As far as I know he has been side-stepping the issue since the beginning of his campaign. So why is he a top 10 celeb stoner? It's not like came right out and announced his support like Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich. But I think there is no choice but to vote for obama for the fact that mccain said he is fully ready to keep funding dea raids on dispenseries in states which have passed legislation. Once again we're F'd!
It won't change
written by danger08 , June 18, 2008 I think Obama is nothing more than status quo for Washington politics. More Gov't intervention and stay the course on the drug war. I would like to see change but I don't think he is the one to do it.
agree with ron paul
written by g. , June 17, 2008 I have seen videos and articles where Obama basically states that he will continue the war on drugs or ramp it up and if not he will at the very least leave things the way they are now. I don't understand why he is on the top 10.
I'm voting...
written by danger08 , June 15, 2008 I've voted for 19 years, and I'll be voting for Barr. He has a whole list of issues I support. My wife asked why I would vote for him if he has such a slim chance of winning. I told her I had to vote for my beliefs. The largest revolution starts with one voice...
...
written by jazz , June 14, 2008 not voting for anyone just perpetualizes the stereotype that stoners are stupid. way to go guys.

other choices
written by danger08 , June 08, 2008 There is another candidate in the race that is for decriminalizing pot. Check out the Libertarians. I can't stomach voting for the same crap from the other parties again.
HONESTy
written by dank , May 28, 2008 i just wish that prominent figures such as celebrities, athletes, and politicians would be up front about their drug use. you will only be judged more harshly if you are not open and honest about it. in fact, i think i'll go pack one up with my stepdad later...
Beware of posturing politicians...
written by Billy B. Blunt , May 23, 2008 With few exceptions politicians will tell groups of people what they came to hear... it's called validation but politicians call this high art 'nuance'... intellectually honest people call it misleading at best. Ron Paul is the only candidate that adamantly rejects the illegal drug war and all that it represents! Ron is pure libertarian on this subject and supported by Cannabis Culture magazine... from Canada... usually much to socialistic to support a libertarian in republican clothing. Read Ron's NYT Bestseller 'The Revolution: A Manifesto' and you may find responsible hedonism... that doesn't violate the rights of others... worth voting for? If guys like j weezy above continue the current trend of electing the lessor of 2 evils we will end up perpetuating an evil system that routinely usurps your self-evident Rights, Freedoms, and Liberties. "Truth is treason in the kingdom of lies" Ron Paul "In the kingdom of the blind the one-eyed man is king" Erasmus
Danger!
written by chase , May 17, 2008 Mr. Obama being cool with herb isn't near enough to make up for the fact that he's a crony of Crook County Machine, and a junior senator who hasn't finished a term as senator. Look at the bigger picture.
barak obama o8!!
written by alex b , April 16, 2008 please lets not rub this stoner thing in everyones face lets have some class i am a stoner but dont want to tarnish his reputation with a "stoner tag", no reason to be immature about it this kind of stoners for obama could ruin a campaign, better to speak intelligently about it, and talk about the dangers of the war on drugs to back up what he is saying rather then being like "yeah man smoke weed barak" "party on" woohooo!

written by j weezy , April 03, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQr9ezr8UeA "When asked, the candidate responded that he still holds this opinion." And seriously, Ron Paul? I love the man's ideas but he doesn't have a damn chance. Write comment
