Often compared to John Belushi and Chris Farley, Vancouver native Seth Rogen is the top stoner actor/writer/director of this decade.
In The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Rogen's Cal famously schools Steve Carell's Andy on the art of scoring chicks. "You're not gonna get with anyone unless you play the odds on this, man," Cal counsels. "You need to plant a lot of seeds. It's like this: When I was growing pot, I realized that the more seeds I planted, the more pot I could unltimatey smoke." In Knocked Up, Rogen's Ben Stone gets Katherine Heigl's Allison Scott pregnant, which forces him to leave his stoner buds behind. Despite this, he was named 2007 Stoner of the Year by High Times. Rogen has since co-written (with Evan Goldberg) and co-starred in Superbad (2007), co-wrote Drillbit Taylor (2008) starring Owen Wilson and lent his voice to Horton Hears a Who, The Spiderwick Chronicles and the upcoming Kung Fu Panda. His next flick is the highly anticipated stoner action-comedy, Pineapple Express, which opens on Aug. 8. The title is named for a strain of marijuana, but the movie takes some surprising turns. "We've got car chases and explosions," Rogen says. "I shot an AK-47 in many scenes in the movie." Surely Rogen's smoked his share of AK-47 as well. Asked for a comment about his election as the 28th Top CelebStoner, Rogen quipped: "I don’t know what to say. It's just such an honor. And...uh... um... what was I talking about? Something about weed? I can't remember. Never mind." At the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, Rogen and his Pineapple Express co-star James Franco smoked a "fake" joint on stage before presenting an award.
