Haggard says Hillary 'inhaled' Print E-mail

Country singer Merle Haggard outed Hillary Clinton on Real Time with Bill Maher on Jan. 25 when he said that Hillary once "inhaled" marijuana when she was on Willie Nelson's bus. Hillary ClintonMerle HaggardThis took place last March 16 in Austin, Texas. Nelson was at the Four Seasons Hotel to announce a new record company he was starting when suddenly Clinton, who also happened to be in Austin, stopped by for a quick visit with Nelson on his bus.

Here's how the conversation went between Maher and Haggard:

[After reciting the first line of Haggard's infamous 1969 song, "Okie form Muskogee" - "We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee" - Maher asks...]

Maher: Have you mellowed on that marijuana issue?

Haggard: I am seldom in Muskogee.

Maher: And I bet you Willie Nelson is never there.

Haggard: Willie cannot be found in Muskogee.

Maher: I know Willie is a very good friend of yours. Certainly, you must've been around marijuana.

Haggard: I've been around it. In fact, we met Hillary. She came in Willie's bus and of course she took a big whiff and I think she inhaled."
